Visual Design
While studying I.T. I also practiced freelancing as a web and graphic designer. Designing takes me to my happy place and adding being able to add creative flair to all my work makes it much more enjoyable.
A huge component of Marketing design involved effectively communicating designs to stakeholders and customers. My passion for designing meaningful concepts was heavily relied on.

Interaction Design
I hold a BSc degree in Information Technology which resulted from my curiosity about the use of systems to communicate information and programming such systems to achieve that goal.
Eager to enter a more corporate field, I became an E-business Officer at a Destination Marketing Organisation. There I was able to manage many digital branding, photography and videgraphy projects among other initiatives.
I attempt to integrate my knowledge of visual design and human-computer interaction into everything I design so that users can have a fluster-free experience. My MSc degree in Interaction Design and Computing has taught me how to put the user at the core of my designs.

My Design Process
My professional and academic experience has taught me that good design is formed from iteration and requires more than an 'Aha' moment. It involves collaboration between multiple teams and the targeted users. It is easy to be tempted to present first designs as solutions while neglecting the necessary research and testing. This process often leads to inaccurate designs which are not tailored to the environment and user's goals. The beginning of the design process for me must cover the premise of the following questions before attempting the How:
-
Who is being targeted?
-
Where will the designs be used?
-
When will they be used?
-
Why are they needed?
-
What is needed?
Great design requires a deep understanding of the users' their goals and environments. Conducting research, observing and interviewing users, collaborating with various teams and testing prototypes all help to manage a project. I believe that successful UX Solutions stem from constantly receiving user feedback through effective communication and keeping the end-user at the core of the design process.
